Four peptides in one vial

Each of KLOW's four components has its own research history. Together they cover several stages of tissue repair.

ComponentWhat it isMain research focus
GHK-CuCopper-binding tripeptide found in human plasmaCollagen synthesis, matrix remodelling, wound models1
BPC-15715-amino-acid peptide from a gastric proteinTendon and soft-tissue repair2
TB-500Synthetic peptide modelled on thymosin beta-4Cell migration, new blood vessels, wound healing3
KPVLys-Pro-Val, the last three amino acids of alpha-MSHInflammatory signalling4

GHK-Cu, BPC-157 and TB-500 are covered in depth in our GHK-Cu and BPC-157 / TB-500 overviews. KPV is the component unique to KLOW.

KPV, the anti-inflammatory piece

KPV is a three-amino-acid peptide, lysine-proline-valine, taken from the end of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), a hormone with known anti-inflammatory activity. In a 2008 study, KPV was carried into intestinal lining cells by PepT1, a transporter for small peptides that increases in inflamed gut tissue. Once inside, it reduced activation of NF-κB, a central switch for inflammatory signalling, and given by mouth it reduced the severity of colitis in mice, an effect that depended on PepT1.4

Why combine them

Tissue repair runs through overlapping stages: an inflammatory phase, cells migrating into the injury, new blood vessels forming, and the extracellular matrix being rebuilt. The four components map onto those stages in the research: KPV on inflammatory signalling,4 TB-500 on cell migration,3 BPC-157 on tendon repair,2 and GHK-Cu on collagen and matrix remodelling.1 A blend lets researchers study those pathways together and compare the combined effect with each component alone.

KLOW itself has not been the subject of published studies. The research cited here is on its individual components, almost all of it in cell and animal models.

Why KLOW is blue

The blue colour comes from the copper bound in GHK-Cu. The other three peptides are white, so a KLOW vial is blue both as a powder and once reconstituted. Our GHK-Cu overview explains the chemistry.

Handling KLOW in the lab

Lyophilized KLOW is stable stored frozen at −4 °F and protected from light. Let a vial reach room temperature before opening, reconstitute with bacteriostatic water added slowly down the side of the vial, swirl rather than shake, and keep the solution refrigerated at 36–46 °F.

Before using any lot, check its certificate of analysis. Our current KLOW lot, VD-KLOW80-2610, tested at 99.20% purity by HPLC with identity confirmed by LC-MS at VeriPure Labs. View the certificate ↗ or see every lot on our lab reports page.

Frequently asked questions

What is in KLOW?

Four peptides co-lyophilized in one vial: GHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500 and KPV.

Why is KLOW blue?

The copper bound in its GHK-Cu component gives the blend its blue colour. The other three peptides are white.

Has KLOW been studied as a blend?

Not in published studies. The research behind it is on its individual components, mostly in cell and animal models.

Is KLOW for human use?

No. Vivid DNA supplies KLOW strictly for laboratory research. It is not a drug, food or supplement, and is not for human or veterinary use.
