What is BPC-157 / TB-500?

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide whose sequence is taken from a protective protein found in gastric juice. In preclinical research it is studied in models of tendon, ligament, muscle and gastrointestinal tissue repair, and for its effects on angiogenesis and the growth-factor signalling involved in healing.

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide modelled on thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4), an actin-binding protein that regulates cell migration. Pairing the two lets researchers study complementary repair mechanisms, local tissue signalling from BPC-157 and cell migration and angiogenesis from TB-500, in the same model.
